Jonathan says, I will not fail Nigerians
– President Goodluck Jonathan has
assured Nigerians if given a second
term chance, he won't fail Nigerians.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Emir of Gusau,
Alhaji Muhammad Kabiru Danbaba, on Tuesday, he
noted that his second coming was to address certain
toning issues which had confronted the country.
He said his second coming would improve security,
economy and joblessness bedevilling the country for the
betterment of citizens, irrespective of their political
differences.
Jonathan insisted that his administration would
vigorously implement policies, programmes and
projects that would ensure rapid development of
Nigeria's solid minerals and agricultural sectors if
elected as the next president of the country as part of
measures to address the present and future vacuums of
the oil revenue shortfall.
Commenting further, he disclosed that the Federal
Government had concluded plans to collaborate with
states that were blessed with commercial mineral
resources with a view to ensuring full development of
the sector.
''Your royal highness, I want thank you for the honour
and warm reception given to my campaign in your
palace. It is part of our plan if we are chanced for the
second time to support the state in developing mineral
resources that are in abundance in the state. I also want
to assure you and Nigerians at large that we will not fail
this state and we will not fail Nigerians,'' he declared.
President Jonathan also added that he was passionately
committed to the full development of Nigeria's solid
minerals sector because of its huge potentials of
boosting national economy.
Responding, the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Kabiru Danbaba,
thanked the president for the visit and wished him
peaceful and successful campaign activities while in the
state, saying that Zamfara, being Farming as our pride,
will always support the agricultural sector and the SURE
–P programme which impacted many citizens.
