We'll consider Buhari mindful if anything happens to Jonathan —PDP

THE decision Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Presidential Campaign Organization, on Wednesday,
chided the presidential applicant of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu
Buhari and his supporters, over the assault on its
competitor in the February 14 presidential race,
President Goodluck Jonathan, in Kastina on Tuesday.
Tending to newsmen in Abuja, on Wednesday, the
Director of Media and Publicity of the association,
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, cautioned that "if anything
untoward happens to our competitor or his
supporters amid the course of this fight, we should
consider Buhari and his gathering mindful and the
results would be grave, unbelievable and extensive."
He said: "Yesterday, while going to Katsina for his
booked rally, a gathering of floor brush wielding
vandals, droning "sai Buhari," heaved stones at the
escort of the President and Commander-in-Chief of
the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Dr Goodluck Jonathan, who, as all of you know, is our
presidential hopeful in the February 14 race."
As indicated by Fani-Kayode, "we consider that activity
abominable, uncouth, disgraceful and very
inexcusable. It indicates obviously the brutal nature,
attitude and character of those people that were
included and the presidential applicant that they help.
"The Katsina show-of-disgrace was the first instance of
savagery unleashed on our applicant by supporters of
the hopeful of the APC, General Buhari, after the
marking of the noteworthy Abuja accord by the
presidential applicants of every last one of gatherings
taking part in the decision. The motivation behind that
accord was to dishearten viciousness some time
recently, amid and after the decision," he said.
As per him, "the praiseworthy expectation of the
accord has now been unreliably disregarded by a
gathering of lowlifes and vandals, whose pioneer has
ended up being completely unequipped for holding
them within proper limits and limiting them from
enjoying roughness. It is troubling that this sort of
savage response would show when the decision has
not held and their applicant has not yet lost."
Fani-Kayode announced that "by the finesse of God
and the backing of the well intentioned Nigerian
electorate, General Buhari will endure a pounding
thrashing in the hands of our hopeful, President
Jonathan, at the surveys.
"When we recall the post-decision brutality of 2011
after this same competitor lost, you must admire the
reason we are raising these concerns," he brought up.
"We are, in fact, horrified that the APC and its
presidential applicant would permit their supporters,
in his (General Buhari's) home state, to run crazy with
the agreeable expectation to damage the president
and the individuals who went with him.
"Were it not for the courageous endeavors of the
security work force, this little gathering of fierce
vandals would have hurt the president and brought
about harm to the vehicles in his escort," Fani-Kayode
deplored.
As per him, "it is applicable for us to bring up the way
that our applicant, our gathering and our various
supporters have so far carried on sensibly and
dependably amid the course of this battle and the
world can confirm this with the tranquil rally that
General Buhari had in Bayelsa State, the home
condition of our hopeful.
"Why couldn't General Buhari demonstrate his
dedication to the Abuja accord by guaranteeing that
his supporters did likewise thing and did not enjoy
vandalism, dangers and brutality? We wish to state
plainly and completely that the conduct of Buhari and
his supporters is inadmissible and must stop
forthwith," Fani-Kayode cautioned.
He approached a large number of PDP supporters
everywhere throughout the nation to try to avoid
panicking and not enjoy any manifestation of brutality
or requital assaults, regardless of monstrous and
outlandish incitement.
In the interim, the APC has emphatically censured the
reported stoning of the escort of President Jonathan in
Katsina State on Tuesday, saying brutality of any sort is
completely unsatisfactory to the gathering.
In an announcement issued in Lagos, on Wednesday,
by its national exposure secretary, Alhaji Lai
Mohammed, the gathering said President Jonathan
ought to be allowed to fight anyplace in the nation
without obstruction.
It said despite the fact that the assault on the
president's guard occurred a day after the provocative
desire to die for-Buhari daily paper advertorial that
was placed out for the sake of the president, nothing
legitimizes the stoning of the president's comvoy
anyplace in the nation.
APC restated its dedication to a persistent edification
of its parts and supporters to shun viciousness in the
recent past, amid and after one month from now's
general race, urging different gatherings to stick to this
same pattern.
"We consider decision as a festival of popular
government, not a do-or-pass on undertaking.
Whether one concurs with the crusade message of any
gathering, taking part in roughness nullifies the very
substance of vote based system and ought to be
censured by all," the gathering said.
