Ayo Fayose warns APC and Buhari over attack on Pres. Jonathan
Just got this press release. Read below...
Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose
has sounded a note of warning to the All
Progressives Congress (APC) and its
presidential candidate, Muhammadu
Buhari over unprovoked attacks on the
campaign train of President Goodluck
Jonathan in some parts of the north.
The governor said; "We will no longer
tolerate any orhestrated attack on
Pesident Jonathan and supporters of the
Peoples Democratic Party anywhere in
the country."
Governor Fayose , who spoke through his
Special Assistant on Public Communications
and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said President
Jonathan's humility and silence of must not be
taken for granted.
He said Buhari should not allow desperation
for power to lead him into throwing the north
into another orgy of electoral violence as he
did when he lost the 2011 presidential
election.
Governor Fayose said; "Having signed a pact to
maintain peace before, during and after the
elections, it was expected that Buhari would
talk to his blood thirsty supporters to let peace
reign.
"However, the orchestrated attacks on the
campaign train of the president in Katsina and
Bauchi States have shown that APC is not a
party of peace and we are warning strongly
that they must not put Nigeria on the spot.
"Most importantly, Buhari and his APC should
tell us in plain language if what they want is to
dismember this country, because nobody has
monopoly of violence.
"They must stop taking the gentility and civility
of President Jonathan as weakness because an
attack on the President of a nation is an attack
on the country and Buhari should know that he
will never be President of Nigeria by
intimidation and blood-letting.
"The APC candidate should therefore talk to
his blood - thirsty supporters in the North to
stop attacking the president, else they risk
reprisal attacks from Nigerians in other parts
of the country."

Ex ACCESS BANK CORPORATE AFFAIRS MANAGER AUSTIN EDOJA- PETERS DIES ...
It was with great shock that many people received the
awful news of the death of ex- Access Bank Corporate
Affairs Manager Austin Edoja Peters who surrendered to
the more powerful force of death.
The ever cheerful lad was said to have died after an
unsuccessful battle with Ulcer.
Ever since Austin died at an Abuja hospital, tributes have
been trooping in because of the way he related with
people while alive.
One of his closest friends Segun Fafore who also worked
with him at Access Bank wrote a touching tribute to
Austin on facebook ; it is reproduced below
Augustine Onaiwu Edoja-Peters … just that certainty of
'the undesirable' is divine
"Austin, announcement of your death was the very last
thing I expected to hear about you. This came to me as a
rude shock! I never imagined that you would quit this
battlefield called Life just about this time.
But Austin, you really prepared for this battle?
You struggled to surpass yourself even when your
background posed enough barrier to the extent you
could go. With sheer courage and naked determination,
you suppressed those impediments to create a beautiful
path for yourself, and redirected the destiny of those
who are related to you.
Through dedication, hard work and focus, you gradually
began to lead your siblings to accomplishments and
became for them, the harbinger of hope every family
would desire. Fair of failure created in you an irritating
level of intolerance which can only be untangled by
those who are familiar with your story and aspirations.
I stand, watching you lead the path, in glowing energy,
bearing a flame of hope that would eventually succumb
to the cyclone of life. For your refreshing perspectives
and unusual empathy, friends and associates will miss
you.
Reflectively, the UNTIMELINESS of your death signals the
certainty of settlement of human's liability to nature.
This 'undesirable' obligation would be fulfilled by
everyone man, woman …and everyone eventually.
Sadly, this reality is inevitable because it is DIVINE.
Otherwise, Austin with the richness of life in him would
not have succumbed.
Austin was that guy next door who shared our drinks
and cracked jokes with everyone last night. Imagine him
on the same pew with you with a copy of newspaper in
his hands, heartily discussing Nigerian politics in his
typical manner.
Yes, he was that close.
Isn't that true, Titilope Olubiyi? Dayo Ogunwomoju? Aiki
Odiawa? Adeboye Oyegunle? Adebola Adeyinka? Toyin
Henry-Ajayi? Abidemi Omoladun? Seun Adesida? Bolanle

Adewale? Busola Osilaja? Femi Adeleke? Ezekiel Jonah?
Temitope Oshunkeye? Cima Sholotan? Chukwuemeka
Ezeh? Iyke?
Austin, I know you loved your twins very dearly, and
deeply too. Oghenekaro and Oghenekome were enough
reasons for you to live. Your love for your youthful wife,
Awele and the value you placed on your ties with your
siblings and other family members could have deafened
your ears to the great call
But clearly, THE CERTAINTY OF 'THE UNDESIRABLE' IS
INEVITABLE BECAUSE OF ITS DIVINE ASSENT.
We love you really dearly and pray that your kind soul
will find peace in the Lord. Our supplications to Him
who has decided that your journey ends here is that He
should show abundant mercy and kindness on your
household and family by raising for them a greater
beacon of hope who will assuage the pain of your exit.

D’banj’s Debt Issue: Court Case Adjourned Indefinitely
dwindling as the court case between him and
Mindhub Technologies bearing suit number:
LD/ADR/445/14 scheduled to commence
hearing on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the
Multi-door Courthouse in Obalende, Lagos, has
been adjourned indefinitely.
The chief reason for the postponement of the
case is because there is an on-going strike by
the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN)
which is over 3 weeks old now. The on-going
strike by judicial workers necessitated the
adjournment of the case as the strike has
paralysed activities and court rooms remain
closed. A new date will be announced once
judicial workers call off the strike.
Hopefully before the court comes up with a
new date, the Kokomaster would have settled
the pressing issue amicably with the company.

Obama speaks on missing Chibok girls, says Nigerian govt has not been as effective as it needs to be
President Obama was recently interviewed by
YouTube stars, Bethany Mota, GloZell Green &
Hank Green and one of the questions he was
asked was about the missing Chibok girls and
efforts by the US government to rescue them.
What he said below...
"As people may or may not know, Boko
haram is a radical, violent, terrible
extremist organisation in Nigeria. It
kidnapped 200 young women and there
are in many cases still being held. What
we tried to do is to help the Nigerian
government deal with the problem. The
Nigerian government has not been
effective as it needs to be in not only
finding the girls but also stopping these

their territory. What we have tried to do
is to mobilize other countries to try to
give the Nigerian government more
resources, not just military equipment
but also better intelligence. A lot of them
to track where these folks are and try to

I dress to show off my legs –Miss Globe Nigeria 2014
Background
My name is Sandra Ogbebor. I am Miss Globe Nigeria
2014. I studied English at the University of Benin and I
graduated in 2010. I have four brothers and a sister. It
was fun growing up with them.
Modelling
When I was a teenager, people told me I had the
physique of a model. I was the tallest in my class when
I was in secondary school. After I gained admission
into the University of Benin, I travelled to Lagos for
auditions. My modelling career had a proper start
after I participated in the Elite Model Look in 2009.
Pageantry
I participated in World Miss University where I was
first runner-up in 2007. Then it was known as Miss
Nigeria Campus. In 2010, I was a contestant at the
Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and I made it to
the top 10 category. I was crowned Face of the Niger
Delta in 2011. I was crowned Miss Globe Nigeria last
year.
Becoming Miss Globe Nigeria
It's a beautiful experience. It has opened doors for me
and I am still exploring the opportunities it has
afforded me. It has given me more exposure. These
days, I find myself talking to the press and I am treated
like a VIP at functions I attend.
Pet project
I'm working on a project called Sandra and the Child. I
chose that project because I'm passionate about little
children. It breaks my heart to see young children beg
for alms in traffic. I want to take them off the streets
and give them a good life.
Fame
Life has been normal except for a few times when I am
travelling in my capacity as Miss Globe Nigeria.
Because I wear my sash at times like that, people
recognise me and want to take photographs with me.
Miss Globe International
I represented Nigeria at Miss Globe International,
which held last November in Albania. It was a beautiful
experience. I met with beauty queens from other
countries. I was friends with Miss Trinidad and Tobago,
Miss Sweden, and Miss Algeria. I was grouped with
them by the organisers of the competition. I was also
friends with the rest but because most of them spoke
only Spanish and Italian languages, we could not forge
a deep friendship.
Love
I don't want to talk about my love life but I like my
man to be strong and confident. He should be ready to
show me love and must be God-fearing as well as
ambitious. He has to be romantic because I like
romance.
Fitness
I don't do anything special to stay in shape. Because it's
good to exercise for health reasons; I now visit the
gym often. Before now, I visited the gym once in three
months. I also eat a lot of fruits. It cleanses my system
and makes my skin glow.
Relaxation
I rarely relax because I hate to be in one place for too
long. I like to be on the move. If I'm in one place doing
nothing for an extended period, I get cranky. If I have
to relax, I go to the spa; I do massages and listen to
music. If time permits, I travel.
Style
Style is being comfortable in whatever you wear. I'm a
jeans and tee-shirt girl but whenever I have to dress
glamorous, I like to stand out. I love to wear clothes
that have an unusual twist. When I don't need to glam
up or go for an event, then I dress comfortably. I'm
not the kind of girl that would wear heels to visit a
nearby store. I dress to accentuate my curves and
show off my legs.

Chocolate City called Fantasy. I am currently in the
studio working on putting out an album in the near

What in your opinion is the biggest barrier an artiste
like yourself has to overcome, to gain any commercial
success?
I think the biggest barrier I could face to get to where I
want to be in this industry would be being accepted by
people and earning their respect. I believe when I
accomplish this, I can take the people on a musical
journey and give them so memorable moments which
would in turn interpret to commercial success for me.

Jonathan, Amaechi lock horns over Rivers stadium
President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Rotimi
Amaechi of Rivers State locked horns again on
Saturday over the use of the Rivers State stadium for a
Peoples Democratic Party rally.
The two fell out with each other several months ago
leading to the defection of Amaechi from the PDP to
the opposition All Progressives Congress. The Rivers
governor is also not in good terms with the First Lady,
Mrs. Patience Jonathan, over claims that the
President's wife wanted to control him and the state.
Mrs. Jonathan has repeatedly denied this allegation.
On Friday, in an apparent move to counter the refusal
by Amaechi to grant the state PDP permission to use
the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium for the PDP
presidential rally armed soldiers took over the
stadium.
Jonathan's presidential rally is billed to hold on
Wednesday, January 28.
Amaechi had cited an ongoing construction work on
the sporting facility as the reason for turning down the
request.
The governor had also maintained that since the
stadium was one of the projects his administration
was bent on completing before leaving office, it would
be unnecessary to stop work on the 40,000 capacity
sports complex located in Igwuruta-Ali, Ikwerre Local
Government Area due to a political rally.
The soldiers moved into the stadium Friday night and
were still within the facility when SUNDAY PUNCH
visited the place on Saturday.
The soldiers mounted guard at the two main entrances
to the stadium. More soldiers were seen alighting from
a Hilux van while others were stationed at different
points within the stadium complex.
One of our correspondents gathered that the
governorship candidate of the PDP in the state, Mr.
Nyesom Wike, was led to the stadium by a group of
security agents, including men of the Department of
State Security at about 12: 50pm on Saturday.
Sources said Wike, who is the former Minister of State
for Education, was at the stadium to inspect the facility
ahead of his party's presidential rally on Wednesday.
The leadership of the PDP in the state had alerted the
police and other security agencies of an alleged threat
by Amaechi to mobilise his supporters against the
party should it (PDP) insist on holding the President's
rally at the stadium.
Wike had also vowed that the facility would be
available for the President's rally.
Reacting to the occupation of the stadium by soldiers,
Amaechi told SUNDAY PUNCH that Jonathan was not
prepared for a free and fair election.
The governor, in a telephone interview with one of our
correspondents in Abuja on Saturday, said it was
unfortunate that the President was preaching one
thing but doing another.
He said, "If the President wants free and fair election,
why would he use armed soldiers to forcefully take
over a state government facility when it has not be
given to him or his party to campaign?
"Work is ongoing at the stadium and another one has
been given to them to hold the rally. Why must he
insist on using the stadium where workers are still
working?"
The governor asked Nigerians and the international
community to focus on the country and the state in
particular, warning that the PDP and Jonathan must be
held responsible for any breakdown of law and order
during or after the elections.
He appealed to the people of the state and members
of his political party, the APC, to remain calm in the
face of the "underserved provocation from the
President they laboured to put in power."
Meanwhile, suspected political thugs on Saturday
attacked the venue of an APC governorship rally in
Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The hoodlums reportedly threw explosives into the
arena, which was prepared for the campaign of the
APC governorship candidate in the state, Dr. Dakuku
Peterside.
The equipment for the event was destroyed by
persons, who were said to have stormed the National
School Field in a white Hiace bus.
Okrika is the home of the wife of President Jonathan,
Patience, who was at the governorship rally of the PDP
at the same venue on Thursday, January 22, 2015.
Speaking on the attack, the APC Chairman in Okrika,
Mr. Christian Asifamaka, said the armed youths began
to shoot sporadically at the venue as early as 3:45am.
Asifamaka stated that the thugs later resorted to
throwing explosives into the arena, destroying the
podium and sound system in the process.
The armed youths, according to the Okrika APC
chairman, came from Igbiri community, an area that
shares a border with Mrs. Jonathan's Oba Ama
community.
"Those setting up the sound system and the podium
were forced to flee for dear lives. At about 4am they
started shooting explosives into the arena. The boys
came in a white Hiace bus and they are allegedly from
Igbiri, a community that shares borders with Mrs.
Jonathan's Oba Ama community," Asifamaka said in
his statement.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for
Police, Mr. Dan Bature, said a group of unidentified
persons attacked the campaign ground with explosive
device suspected to be dynamite.
Explaining that no life was lost during the attack,
Bature, who spoke with reporters in Port Harcourt,
said the Police Bomb Disposal Unit had begun
investigation on the matter.
He noted that the attack in Okrika had increased
tension in the state ahead of the February 2015
general election
He said, "While the command is determined to
discharge its constitutional mandate of protection of
lives and property, all political parties are hereby
warned to adhere strictly to the Code of Conduct
guiding political parties in the state, respect of law and
order, and eschew violence in all its ramifications
before, during and after the 2015 general elections.
"The command is determined to enforce law and
order, provide adequate security for all political
parties and ensure that the full wrath of the law is
visited on any person or persons, who dare and wish
to test our capability."
The attack on the venue for the APC campaign forced
the party to call off its rally slated for Saturday.
A statement signed by Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, the
Director of Communication of Greater Together
Campaign Organisation, the campaign team of the
governorship candidate, stated that the cancellation
became necessary as a result of the early Saturday
violence against APC members and supporters.
"The APC in Rivers State has called off its governorship
campaign rally scheduled for Saturday, in Okrika.
Okrika is the birthplace of Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife
of President Goodluck Jonathan.
"The APC governorship candidate, Dr. Dakuku
Peterside, was expected to unveil his Roadmap to
Prosperity, a revolutionary economic blue-print for
the massive development of Rivers State, to the Okrika
electorate as well as highlight the choice space the
area holds in the plan.
"Heavily armed thugs had in the wee hours of the
morning besieged the National School Field, Okrika,
venue of the APC governorship rally and opened fire,"
she said.

My husband will obey rule of law — Buhari’s wife
The wife of the All Progressives Congress Presidential
candidate, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has said
her husband, General Buhari, will be guided by
provisions of the Nigerian Constitution in all of his
actions.
Mrs. Buhari said this in an interview with newsmen
shortly after the inaugural meeting of APC Women
Presidential Campaign Initiative, in Abuja, on Saturday.
She said if the APC took over government in May 29,
strict adherence to the provisions of the constitution
as well as respect for the human person would be its
guiding principle.
According to her, the subject of whether or not there
will be an office for the First Lady was not issue
because as a woman she has her role already carved
out.
She said, "When my husband is elected as the
president of this country, he will rule the country
within the rule of law based on the constitution of the
country.
"If the office of the first lady is constitutionally
recognised, he will not tamper with it but if it is not
that's okay. For me, I will perform my duties and role
as the wife of the President of Nigeria, traditionally."
She said, "The wife of the president has some
traditional roles, like receiving guests, visiting
orphanages, helping the less privileged people, leading
the fight for the right of women and malnourished
children, infant mortality rate, kidnapping and girl
child trafficking and so on."
Earlier, she charged women at the gathering to rise up
to the challenge of creating awareness among rural
women so as to ensure that they not only collect their
permanent voter cards but that they also come out to
vote on election day. She urged women to go the extra
mile to explain voting procedures to the female folk
and ensure that they not only vote but also protect
their votes.
Mrs. Buhari said the meeting was convened to
workout modalities for enlightening women based on
the peculiarities of each of the six geo-political zones.
In her remarks, the wife of Buhari's running mate, Mrs.
Oludolapo Osinbajo in a veiled response to a
campaign pronouncement by President Goodluck
Jonathan, said, there was nothing wrong with women
playing their roles in the kitchen.
Mrs. Osinbajo said she is a trained lawyer, wife and
mother and she takes delight in cooking for her family.
She said an APC-led government would go beyond
appointing a few women into political office by putting
in place measures to empower them to contribute
meaningfully to national growth.

Jonathan’s PhD certificate authentic — UNIPORT
FOLLOWING speculations in some quarters that
President Goodluck Jonathan did not complete his
doctorate degree programme at the University of Port
Harcourt, the institution has come out in his defence.
But the Uniport Deputy Registrar (Information), Dr.
William Wodi, explained that apart from acquiring his
first degree in the institution, Jonathan also got his
Masters and Ph.D in the same institution.
Wodi, in a statement sent to SUNDAY PUNCH via
electronic mail, described the rumour about the
President's educational qualification as baseless.
The deputy registrar of the university specifically
stated that Jonathan was among 422 students that
matriculated in the school in 1977 and was admitted
in the Department of Zoology, which had been
renamed Animal and Environmental Science.
"The authorities of the University of Port Harcourt are
aware of rumours that are now spreading like
harmattan fire over the doctoral degree status of
President Goodluck Jonathan. The allegations have
neither legs nor grounds to stand on and we hope that
its purveyors will now rest in silence.
"For the avoidance of doubt, the authorities of the
University wish to state without equivocation that Mr.
Goodluck Jonathan, as he then was, was among 422
students, who matriculated in 1977. He was admitted
into the then Department of Zoology, now Animal and
Environmental Biology in the then School of Biological
Sciences, now a Faculty in the new College of Natural
and Applied Sciences.
"At the end of a successful residency period, Jonathan
was awarded the Bachelor of Science (Upper Division)
in 1981. It was rumoured among students that the
young university was reluctant to award the First Class
to its pioneer class in an effort to consolidate its
academic profile," Wodi said.
He said the President later enrolled into the
postgraduate programme and obtained the Master of
Science degree in Hydrobiology and Fisheries in 1985
and crowned his academic pursuit in the University
with the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Zoology in
1995.
He said, "From the above account, it has become
obvious that Dr. Jonathan successfully completed the
prescribed courses and programmes as specified by
the Senate of the University of Port Harcourt to earn
his degrees from the university."
Stressing that the university remains proud of
Jonathan, Wodi advised any person or organisations in
need of further information on the educational
qualification of the President or any other student of
the institution to contact authorities of the university.
"We have absolutely nothing to hide as an institution
that has a statutory mandate to advance the frontiers
of knowledge," Wodi added.

6 Ogun State Politicians Die in Auto Crash
According to reports gathered by City People,
six members of the Labour Party in Ogun State
were said to have lost their lives along Owode-
Idi-Iroko Road, Yewa South local government
area of the state when the bus they were
travelling in had a head-on collision with
vehicles believed to be driven by suspected
smugglers.
Two prominent leaders among the victims
were Ibrahim Oladele, and Wale Oke, together
with four others. They were said to be on their
way to Abeokuta to participate in the party's
programme on Thursday when the accident
occurred.
Sources explained that the smugglers were
fleeing from the men of Nigeria customs
Service, and this led to a head-on collision with
the bus that was loaded with Labour party
members, that was coming from the opposite
direction. The state Secretary of the party,
Sunday Oginni, confirmed the incident, and
described it as a great loss. He said,
"The party lost six grass roots politicians to the
accident. "The accident is a setback to us as a
party because the people that lost their lives
were very active party leaders who we used as
field soldiers for our campaign.

Breaking News!!! - Cambridge University Denies Releasing Buhari's Result to Kastina State Secondary School.
The University of Cambridge yesterday spoke to our
reporter about General Buhari certificate forgery. The
body declared that although Hausa Language was offered
as African Language, they did not release any student's
result to Nigeria.
The body accepted that they can issue a certificate to any
student who wanted one but denied that the results from
Kastina came from them. They promised to release a
general statement on their website on the matter as they
claimed more than 1,000,000 requests have come to
them about the WASC result of one Mohammadu Buhari.
The exam body claimed they cannot comment on whether
such name exist in their archives but they conclusively
denied the Kastina result. When we showed them a sample
of another Cambridge result belonging to another
candidate, they quickly confirmed it to be real but that
General Buhari's results are fake.
The body concluded by saying it takes less than 24 hours
for a candidate to obtain a certificate from them. A
representative from the exam body also revealed that any
legitimate student who sat for the exam in Nigeria can
obtain a replacement certificate from the office of the
West African Examination Council (WAEC).

Mom Shocked After Finding Out A Satanic Pentagram in School Bus Brake Lights
A mom in Durham says she has been shocked
after finding out that brake lights on the school
bus show a pentagram which is a satanic
symbol. She was so outraged that she took a
picture of the brake lights of the bus as it
made a stop in Cordova. Said the concerned
mom;
"Anyone who fears a God, if not God and
Jesus Christ, should be outraged."
According to FOX, the original news source is
not sharing her name because she's getting
death threats for her views.
The parent says it's appalling the brake
lights are shaped like a pentagram. A
pentagram is an upside down, five-
pointed star. Merriam-Webster dictionary
says the pentagram is often used as a
magic or religious symbol.
"If you can't put a cross on there, you
cannot put a pentagram on it." said the
concerned mom.
She points out just last month, Walgreen's
pulled wrapping paper from its shelves
because the images appeared to be
swastikas. "Would we allow a swastika, for
instance, to be on the back of the bus?"
said the concerned mother.
A lot of people are wondering if she is
making a whole lot of something out of
nothing.
"Go find out if it was intentional." said
Practicing Wiccan Jo Applewhite.
Either way, the parent says the lights send
the wrong signal, and she wants them
changed. The school district did not
answer questions about the bus brake
lights.
Seriously, I think this particular parent is being
too literal! Those could be twinkling stars for
all anyone can see. Surely there are more
important things for the school system to
worry about? Your thoughts..

Manchester City both crashed out of the FA
Cup after being sensationally beaten by lower-
league opponents in the fourth round on
Saturday.
A weakened Chelsea team threw away a 2-0
lead to lose 4-2 at home to third-tier Bradford
City in one of the biggest upsets in the
competition's recent history, while City lost 2-0
to Championship high-fliers Middlesbrough at
the Etihad Stadium.
With Southampton beaten 3-2 by Crystal
Palace, it means that none of the Premier
League's top three teams will feature in
Monday's fifth-round draw, blowing the
competition wide open.
Manchester United, who are fourth in the
Premier League, face a replay against fourth-
division Cambridge United after a 0-0 away
draw against the League Two club on Friday.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had warned
prior to kick-off at Stamford Bridge that it
would be a "disgrace" if his side were beaten
by Bradford.
But his words came back to haunt him as the
League One team pulled off an upset that
brought to mind their stunning run to the
League Cup final in 2013.
Chelsea made nine changes to the team that
had drawn 1-1 with Liverpool in Tuesday's
League Cup semi-final first leg and took a 21st-
minute lead when Gary Cahill flicked in Oscar's
corner.
Ramires made it 2-0 in the 38th minute after a
one-two with Mohamed Salah, but Jon Stead
replied for Bradford three minutes later and
former Chelsea youth player Filipe Morais
equalised 15 minutes from time.
A money-spinning replay beckoned for the
team who are currently seventh in the third
tier, 51 places below Chelsea, but they went
ahead in the 82nd minute when Andy Halliday
found the top corner from 18 yards.
Mourinho introduced Willian, Cesc Fabregas
and Eden Hazard from the bench, but it was
Bradford who had the final say as substitute
Mark Yeates calmly slotted home to claim his
own piece of FA Cup folklore.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini was left to face
questions about his side's midweek trip to Abu
Dhabi for a warm-weather training camp after
they were eliminated by Middlesbrough.
Currently second in the Championship,
Middlesbrough weathered heavy pressure in
the first half before capitalising on some
farcical defending to take a 53rd-minute lead
through on-loan Chelsea striker Patrick
Bamford.
Fernando's back-pass sold Willy Caballero short
and after the City goalkeeper collided with
Albert Adomah, Fernando slid in to clear, only
to play the ball against Bamford, whose touch
took the ball in.
After Lee Tomlin had hit the post for
Middlesbrough, with Frank Lampard replying
in kind, substitute Kike secured victory for the
visitors in stoppage time by finishing off a
counter-attack led by Bamford.
City, who visit Chelsea in the league next
weekend, have now lost successive home
games for the first time in three years, having
lost 2-0 at home to Arsenal last weekend.
Sixth-placed Tottenham were another team to
suffer at home as the Premier League's
basement side Leicester City came from
behind to win 2-1 at White Hart Lane.
Spurs went ahead from the penalty spot after
19 minutes through Andros Townsend, but the
Foxes' industry was rewarded with seven
minutes left when Leonardo Ulloa swept the
ball home.
There was then drama in stoppage time when
Michel Vorm allowed a scuffed shot from Jeff
Schlupp to squirm over the line. Swansea,
ninth in the top-flight, had earlier lost 3-1 to
Championship side Blackburn at Ewood Park in
the lunchtime kick-off.
The Swans had Kyle Bartley sent off early on,
but Gylfi Sigurdsson, who also saw red in the
closing stages, put them ahead in the 21st
minute only for Chris Taylor to equalise two
minutes later, and late goals from Rudy
Gestede and Craig Conway sent Rovers
through.
Sunderland were held to a goalless draw at
home by Championship side Fulham after
playing the final 24 minutes with only 10 men
following Jack Rodwell's dismissal for two
bookable offences.

I Tried To Kill Myself Because I Was Broke - Halima Abubakar
This is not the first time Halima Abubakar
would be speaking about her attempted
suicide, she once said it on her instagram
page, but in this new interview with Punch,
Halima shed more light on it and explained
how she went broke and was tired of life, how
people lied using her name, how people she
loved betrayed her, and how her boyfriend
couldn't even save her. Continue below.
If not for divine intervention, actress Halima
Abubakar would have been dead by now. She
disclosed this in an exclusive chat with
Saturday Beats.
The actress said she went into depression
some time ago and considered suicide as the
only option of getting away from that state.
And guess why Halima was depressed and
wanted to kill herself -she was broke!
She said, "There were a lot of things that were
wrong with me and led to my depression. I
was angry, broke, people lied against me and
they were also using my name to lie. I was
deceived by the people I loved. I was seriously
broke at the time and I had lots of
responsibilities.
"There were many charity projects I was
involved in and I was doing everything with my
money. Everything just got to me at the same
time and I felt fed-up. I wanted to kill myself
because there was nobody to help me. It
happened two years ago and it also occurred
last year. I thank God I did not kill myself
because I realised that nothing is worth it. I
was upset with myself when I got back to my
senses because the people you want to kill
yourself for do not really care about you. It
was a terrible phase in my life," she said.
When asked why her boyfriend could not help
her out, Halima said he compounded her case
instead of helping out.
"He was not helping matters. I wanted
somebody that would listen and not say that I
was lying or exaggerating the extent of what I
was going through. Whenever I tell him I am
sad, he wants to give me money but it is not
all about money all the time.
"Yes, I said I was broke but it was not only
about money. I was broken emotionally. If
there is no hope, I feel I am broken. I needed
a listening ear. The definition of broke is
relative but Nigerians think it is only about
money. Money was also involved. The first
major problem I had was money; then I was
also emotionally broken," she said.
